FOUR BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG PUPPIES BORN SEPTEMBER 28, 2017!!!

Henley - GCHG Tanzanite Learning Curve CD RN NDD - delivered four healthy puppies on September 28 - 3 boys and 1 girl.  The sire of the litter is a young dog named Kiki - Powder Keg Farm's Quicksilver.  This will be Kiki's first litter - he will be about 18  months old when the pups arrive.  He just started  showing and already has a 4-point major.  This will also be Henley's first litter - she turned 5 years old on October 1, just a few days after the pups were born.  After a successful show career, it's time for her to finally have some puppies!  Due to the small size of this litter, I already have tentative homes for this litter - two of the pups are committed to pet homes, and I won't make a decision on the other two until the conformation evaluations are done at 8 weeks of age.

Here is a pile of one-week old puppies!  At one week old, all 4 pups weigh over 2 pounds.  They all have pretty paint jobs - but experienced breeders don't select show quality puppies based on markings.  Based on head position left to right, there is Dark Boy, Big Boy, Girl, and "Small" Boy (who was the first pup born, he had the smallest birth weight but he's the fastest weight gainer so I'll  have to start describing him as First Boy instead).
